Skills

As the role is dealing with suppliers and all levels of staff plus supervision of a team of 19 daily you will have to demonstrate a high level of communication and managing people skills. You will need to be systems numerate and have demonstrated ability in a Financial accounting system.  The role will require an understanding of double entry book keeping. Previous experience working in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts department would be essential.  You will have worked as part of a team and have a flexible, pro-active and decisive approach when supervising other team member’s tasks and roles. Assist the Purchase Ledger Manager as part of a project team for the implementation and development of systems in line with the business expansion.

The Role

You will be working in a Purchase Ledger Stock department of 20 team members reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager.

The primary importance of the Purchase Ledger Supervisor Stock is to maintain the process for payment of accounts to ensure that the company meets its obligations as they fall due complying with the payment terms agreed. The role will be responsible for supervising a team of 19 ensuring that the supply of goods/service to the company is not disrupted by disputes with suppliers over payments and to take all practical actions to minimize that disruption. To review aged dated items weekly and to ensure deadlines and targets are met in line with audit compliance. To maintain up to date stock supplier details are on Navision to monitor pending purchase orders and match supplier invoices to approved purchase orders. To ensure that all supplier statements are reconciled monthly and that processes are being completed daily in line with company procedures and to ensure that queries are dealt with in a timely manner. To complete annual performance appraisals and review them throughout the 12 months. Identifying the development needs of members of the team and establish training and coaching initiatives to address these requirements.
