    We believe in giving our Managers as much autonomy as possible over the running of our branches as they will know what our corporate standards are, but equally know what the local needs are of regular customers.To join our Branch Management team, we are looking for motivated individuals that have a strong background in managing large teams and large branches! Having the correct behaviours so that you can build relationships with customers, maintain all branch KPI’s and have an eye for achieving targets will put you at a real advantage when we are recruiting in this area.

  • IT

    From system maintenance to implementing software our IT team is at the forefront of keeping our systems modern, maintained and secure. There are a host of responsibilities you may have depending upon your job role, but regardless of what you do or what you are responsible for you will be part of a modern, dynamic department which is critical to the success of our business.Our IT team has a broad scope of responsibilities so depending upon the job role available it could be ideal for you if you have a passion for IT and providing great internal customer service.

  • Shopfloor

    From putting stock away on shelves, to replacing damaged price labels our Shopfloor team is willing to get stuck in to maintain the standards expected from our customers. Having an eye for detail and being able to implement promotional changes is critical for people working on the Shopfloor.The Shopfloor is an ideal place for anyone who wishes to learn the ropes and build a career within Selco. So if you are enthusiastic, willing to learn and are interested in the kinds of products we stock this is the place for you.

  • Branch Transport

    From ensuring that our daily checks are carried out, to route planning the most efficient routes for our vehicles our branches couldn’t provide the high levels of service to our customers without the Branch Transport Team.To join our Branch Transport team, we are looking for individuals that have a passion for transport and are motivated by providing a safe, efficient transport operation. Experience in this area would be ideal as we are keen to recruit people with knowledge of running a localised fleet of HGV and vans.

  • Purchasing

    Being part of the Purchasing team means you will play a part in ensuring that we have all of the correct products in our branches. This is because you will be involved in dealing with suppliers, sourcing new products and keeping an eye on how the products are selling, making sure that our customers love what is being stocked on the shelves.If you are the kind of person that has a passion for the kinds of products we sell and loves dealing with suppliers and researching the latest new initiatives in the market then you should fit in well to this department.

  • Branch Administration

    From managing the payroll, carrying out the daily banking, or ensuring administrative compliance our branches can only truly shine and perform when they have a good Branch Administration team in place.To join our Branch Administration team, we are looking for motivated individuals that have a passion for high standards and great attention to detail. Being able to demonstrate the behaviours of a person that is looking to always make our operation more efficient will put you at an advantage when we are recruiting in this area.

  • Trade Desk

    You need to be switched on to work as part of the Trade Desk team as this can be the busiest part of our branch. From arranging deliveries, processing refunds or negotiating bulk purchasing discounts with a customer, not any 2 days will be the same when working in this area.If you are a born salesman and you thrive on building professional relationships with our customers, then this is the job area for you.

  • Operations

    From arranging to fix broken doors, to helping maintain our fleet of vehicles the Operations team provide a varied service. This team are also responsible for finding and opening our new branches as well as looking after our Delivery Hubs and Light-side Distribution Centre.The kind of people we are looking for will depend upon the roles we have available within the Operations team. But if you have a passion for supporting branches and at the start of your career, or if you’re an established professional we may have just the job for you.

  • Checkouts

    As well as being able to give great customer service to our customers you will also need to know our products, as in our industry not all products are bar coded! Every day will be different, from working on a till, to helping the Shopfloor team merchandise stock. Our Checkout Operators play a really important role to us providing a lasting impression to our customers. Having great customer service skills and the ability to create a positive impression with our customers is what’s required. Knowledge of our product range or working in a similar role before would put you at a great advantage.

  • Goods Inwards

    The Goods Inwards area is a busy part of the branch. From dealing with deliveries, to checking off the accuracy of them Goods Inwards provides the basis of a branch with shelves that are fully stocked.To be a member of the Goods Inwards team you will need to have an eye for detail and be able to deal with delivery drivers and check the accuracy of deliveries. Some of our stock comes in cages & boxes but a lot of it comes on pallets too. So having the ability to drive a fork lift truck would put you at a real advantage when applying for roles in this area.

  • Stock Control

    Our Stock Control team in branch is responsible for ordering the stock from our suppliers and to also ensure the accuracy of our stock by carrying out regular “P.I” counts in our branches. This is a hands-on role, that needs people to roll up their sleeves and have a passion for the integrity of our stock.If you are the kind of person that has a keen eye for detail, loves their numbers and enjoys hunting down stock when we can’t find it in a branch then this is the kind of role that you’ll love.

  • Support Services

    From dealing with broken IT equipment, to sorting out someone who can’t remember where to order uniform from you will act as part of an internal customer service team aiming to support our branch network when things don’t go quite to plan.Our Support Services team has a broad scope of responsibilities so depending upon the job role available it could be ideal for you if you have a passion for providing great internal customer service. Or, if you want to develop your skills and knowledge in a particular area, we may have the role for you too.

  • Finance

    Our Finance department is wide and varied. You will be part of the team that looks after the accounts. This is a much bigger task than what you think, so whether you have a desire to work in Credit Control, or like the detail or developing the budgets for our branches this could be the department for you.We have many different jobs within Finance some of which are ideal for people wanting to dip their toes in the water, and some of which require formal qualifications. But if you want to work in a business that is people focused and growing year on year then this is the place to be.​​

  • Human Resources

    From recruitment to references our HR team is involved in all things people related. We put our people first in Selco, so our HR team not only ensures legal compliance but also gets involved in the benefits we offer our people and the holistic wellbeing of everyone that has a connection to us.If you have a passion for people and want to ensure that our Colleagues are cared for when they are part of the Selco team then this may be the department for you. Our brand ambassadors are key to promoting our brand and communicating with our customers so that they know Selco is the best place to buy their materials from.The kind of people we are looking for will depend upon the roles we have available within the Marketing team.
