Skills

It is essential for candidates to have previous experience of creating and delivering high performing emails and digital communications, demonstrating the following skills:

  • Using email marketing platforms, such as Dotdigital, MailChimp etc
  • Ability to quickly learn and optimise web-based systems, such as ESPs, CMS, Surveys etc
  • Proficient with digital reporting tools like Google Analytics
  • Experience of multi-tasking to tight deadlines/priorities
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Test and learn approach to marketing activity
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR
  • Experience of marketing in an Ecommerce / Retail environment is an advantage

The Role

Our digital services have seen rapid growth in recent years and we have invested in the channel to ensure we differentiate Selco within the builders merchant sector.  You’ll become an expert on our new omnichannel CRM system which provides rich customer data, allowing you to target our customers with personalised and triggered campaigns. It’s a multi-channel system which you’ll use to deliver not only email, but SMS, push notifications, web content and social advertising.

We’ll provide scope to learn and experiment within a supportive digital team.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Manage the end-to-end creation and delivery of Selco’s customer emails.
  • Build on the current email strategy to develop an email marketing programme that is increasingly personalised and automated.
  • Use customer Lifecycle models to create marketing programmes that deliver relevant products and messages to the right customer segments
  • Manage an email marketing plan each month to schedule email content.
  • Build your expertise in Selco’s new Omnichannel CRM platform, to develop highly targeted campaigns that integrate across all customer touch points, including push notifications, in-App and website, as well as email.
  • Work with the in-house studio team to develop creative assets and email content.
  • Support local marketing initiatives, creating campaigns to support activity at individual Selco branches.
  • Work with the wider marketing and commercial team to identify relevant messages and content for emails.
  • Use Google Analytics to track the performance of latest activity and content.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports to track results, KPIs and latest digital trends relevant to the business.
  • Review competitor activity and the wider online landscape to recommend new initiatives that could improve Selco’s online activity.
  • Support on other digital marketing activity, such as social media, display, SMS and Google Ads.
