The Job

We have two new category management positions available as part of our plan to give more focus to lightside products at Selco. Going forward we will be looking at opportunities to develop a Selco own brand and source directly from low cost countries. The candidate will be expected to bring experience in these areas and have a hands on role in the development of these initiatives. The roles will report directly into the Head of Lightside Purchasing.

The successful candidates will be looking after the following areas of the business based on individual levels of experience:

  • Hand Tools
  • Power Tools
  • Builder’s Equipment
  • Ironmongery
  • Door Furniture
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Electrical and lighting
  • Adhesives and sealants
  • Fixings

The role will involve the usual Category Management/Buying functions:

  • Negotiation and management of trading agreements.
  • Managing promotional activity.
  • Supporting the Grafton sustainability initiative.
  • Working with the space planning team to maximise merchandising benefits.
  • Implementing new product initiatives and managing exit plans.
  • Supporting Web Site data requirements.

You

An experienced category manager preferably within the builders merchant industry.
