Selco - Driver Academy

What is the Driver Academy

The Driver Academy is a levy funded 12month course which will equip participants with the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed to become a fully operational HGV Driver in Selco.

What Qualifications will I gain?

You’ll gain a Cat C licence plus HIAB certification as well as a nationally recognised Level 2 certificate.

What do I need to be able to apply?

*         A Full UK Driving licence

*         2 Years proven driving experience

*         No more than 6 penalty points on your licence

*         Branch Manager approval

What level of commitment is required to complete the course?

You’ll be required for around 30 hours per month including classroom and mandatory training.  Dependent on your qualifications you may also need to complete functional skills maths and English.

How will training be delivered?

You’ll attend online training sessions and be required to complete training logs.  You’ll be given training in all aspects of what is required to be a successful and safe HGV driver.
