Selco Makes Plenty More Charity Noise
Selco has produced a huge fundraising effort by donating more than £100,000 to our nominated charity in 2021.
We’ve raised a smashing £105,000 for Global’s Make Some Noise.
It means, despite the pandemic limiting traditional charity events, we’ve raised six figure sums for our nominated charity in each of the last two years.
Global’s Make Some Noise improves the lives of disadvantaged people in communities by working with small charities across the UK keeping crucial services going, such as food banks, domestic violence and mental health helplines, carer support, community projects and employment programmes.
Funds were raised through a variety of methods including colleagues participating in charity walks, in-branch bake sales, dress down days, a golf day and darts challenges.
Carine Jessamine, Marketing Director for Selco, said: “We are proud to have raised such a significant amount of money for Global’s Make Some Noise during a period of Covid restrictions.
“Many of our traditional fundraising events were either scaled back dramatically or cancelled completely but we were determined to continue our proud record of supporting charities and local communities and came up with creative innovative activities to raise funds.”
“Global’s Make Some Noise has done outstanding work throughout the pandemic and we are delighted to have provided support during a difficult time for charities.”
Emma Bradley, Director of Global Charities, said: “It’s a phenomenal effort for Selco to have raised such a substantial amount of money during a global pandemic and we thank all customers, colleagues and suppliers from the bottom of our hearts for their incredible generosity.
“The money will go towards supporting the most vulnerable members of the community and helping them recover from pandemic.”
